As we embark on this fresh cycle, let's keep in mind that our body is a sacred vessel that deserves respect and care. This involves being conscious of what we mentally and physically consume, taking time to nurture ourselves and meet our needs.

Acknowledging ourselves as beings of energy allows us to observe what in our lives nourishes our spirit vs what depletes it. Behaviours such as spending time in nature, staying well hydrated, expressing our creativity, calming the mind, being present, deep breathing, engaging in physical activity etc., are ways that help us to elevate our mental health and wellbeing. In a world that does everything in its power to divert our attention to everywhere else except ourselves, self-care is not selfish, it’s how we call back our power!

By honouring ourselves, we also honour our ancestors and the natural forces that reside within us. Through the conscious practice of self-love and self-nurturing, we raise our own asè (life force), which is essential at this time. Acknowledging and treating our bodies as the sacred altars they truly are will align us with what is beneficial in 2024.
