We are honoured to be joined by Marimer Berberena, PhD of Lehman College.
She is is an adjunct professor, researcher, writer, and passionate explorer of ancient history and cultural foundations.
With a PhD in Africology and African American Studies from Temple University, her work focuses on the deep connections between Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America—especially the cultural and spiritual practices that have endured across generations.

She has studied African cultural retention in Puerto Rico and traditions like Santería, Rastafari livity, and Dominican Gagá. She teaches at Lehman College and Rutgers University while fostering connections through creative, communal, and spiritual initiatives beyond academia.
