Ending the Gregorian calendar year with positive news about the power of student/individual activism and Ujima, the third Kwanzaa principle of collective work and responsibility.

We are most grateful to Christie Lindor for deepening the relationship we have with Harvard University with her support, commitment and agency in helping to co-facilitate the recent acquisition of more of our learning resources to their learning catalogue, since our 2017 release of the seminal ‘Ancestral: Voices: Spirit is Eternal’ book and film.

She heeded the call we put out earlier in the year for contact to be made with local librarians and educational institutions to broaden their cultural content (a right we all have), as a necessary part of decolonisation and egalitarian historical and cultural representation of African heritage and Black history globally.

A collaboration with Prof Marimer Berberena of Lehman College and Rutgers University, it is comparative exploration of Indigenous and African Cosmological creation narratives and themes as a means of highlighting similarities across nature-centred traditions.
The significance of the overlaps sheds much insight on the diverse ecological relationships and practices founds in such Traditions and cultures and how Nature informs them.

NATURE'S SACRED CORPUS:
Nature plays a core role within African societies, with its importance highlighted in the core of many proverbial wisdoms. This academic presentation/lecture is a fascinating dive into the correlations between African herbal perspectives and their use for spiritual and ethnomedicinal purposes.
It also covers how this knowledge has been misused and exploited by multinational companies as well as influenced many western scientific inventions - from vaccination methods to the development of foods and medications in the medical and scientific sectors.
