White-Juju: A Preamble
All donations are greatly appreciated and will contribute to the production of future presentations.
Juju is the weaponised word used to stigmatise African Sacred Traditions wholesale as a malignant, pernicious force. It's only function over the centuries has been to confuse what African Cosmology entails so as to encourage dissociation from it or a dislike of it in general, especially by people of African descent.
Yet the idea of a system that dominates, manipulates and stagnates others by default can be evidenced beyond any African sacred tradition, yet the word Juju continues to cause irrational fear and panic in others due to the colonial shadow.
It is not even an African word, so what exactly is Juju and its purpose? The upcoming 'White-Juju' show delves deeply into this oxymoron to uncover what it suggests from the minds that coined it and reveals a strange truth; that it is a projection of Europeans' own negative traits, insecurities and actions towards Africans to mentally avoid dealing with the consequences of their actions and a means to buffer their conscience.
The only malicious force which has been able to interrupt and stagnate African (and a majority of the world's) growth and development has been (neo) colonialism and imperialism.
The concept of 'white-juju' affords us the opportunity to reframe our minds in how we understand how 'white-juju' works as a psychic and metaphysical framework that is able to produce expected results that furthers white(European) development whilst encouraging black(global majority) underdevelopment.
From hidden Black histories, to taken-for-granted cultural traits, to key developments in western science, the denigration of indigenous sciences, even to how our thinking is subverted to understand aspects of Black culture and African heritage and other Indigenous peoples worldwide.
